Cover FX expands their foundation collection with their latest launch; Power Play, a long wearing, high performance, matte foundation, perfect for the modern woman or man on-the-go.
The collection offers 40 shades, split into 3 undertones – Golden, Pink and Neutral – to match every skin tones. With a vegan and cruelty free formula Power Play is weightless and colour-true with all day wear and powerful shine control. The formula is also waterproof, sweatproof and transfer proof with environmental protection; ideal to take from desk to gym or vice versa.
Here, Trevor O’Keefe Director of Education and Artistry at Cover FX UK shares his tips for using the new Power Play:
How can I ensure it stays put all day?
Use the foundation with either the Mattifying primer (for combination skin) or the Blurring Primer (for more textured and oily skin as I find the Blurring Primer even more mattifying than the Mattifying Primer itself). Set with your chosen powder and you are good to go.
What’s the best way of applying the foundation?
Personally, I’d avoid applying the foundation with your fingertip as this may add more oil to the skin and instead opt for the Cover FX liquid foundation brush. For optimal results (in terms of longevity and aesthetically) press the brush onto the skin in a “stippling” motion so that the foundation ” marries” more cohesively to the Primer, that’s already on the skin Tips for using if I have acne prone skin?
For best results when using on problematic/ Acne prone skin, apply the power Play foundation by way of mixing it with the mattifying Primer and apply with the Cover FX cream foundation brush. Using it this way and with this brush will allow you to achieve a skin like application that’s quite sheer, ensuring the product won’t register as being obvious on the skin.
Extra use of the foundation?
The Power Play Foundation works great on the body too (but not to be classed as a Face and Body formula). Apply a slightly warmer shade to your arms, chest or décolletage and set with either the illuminating or mattifying setting spray that makes the formula become more transfer proof.
Cover FX Power Play (£38) is available now exclusively from Selfridges.
